A man got dressed in the evening and set out on his way to God’s house. On his way to Church, the man fell and his clothes got dirty. He got up, brushed himself up and headed home. At home, he changed his clothes and was again on his way to Church. Again, he fell at the same spot! He, again, got up, brushed off the dirt and headed home. At home, he once again changed his clothes and walked out heading to God’s house. On his way, he met a man holding a lamp. He asked to know his identity and the man replied, “I saw you fall twice on your way, so I brought a lamp so I can light your way.” The first man thanked him profusely and the two went on their way to the Church. I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy? I know He has forgiven me, so why can’t I forgive myself? I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness? I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can’t? I know He will protect me, so why do I fear? I know He will supply all my needs, so why can’t I wait? I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak? I know that everything and everyone has a season, so why when someone’s season is over do I weep instead of rejoice? I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way? I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness? I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me, so why am I scared to ask? I know tomorrow is not promised, so why do I put off for

Just then, rainstorm started sounding overhead, threatening the progress of the crusade. The evangelist lifted up his voice and declared with confidence that if the rains fell, then he wasn’t a man of God; he would stop preaching. Before he finished speaking, the rains began to hit the crusade grounds so vehemently, without regard to his declarations. The whole town left the crusade ground for their houses, shaking their heads in dismay. The evangelist, so distraught and angry, packed his belongings and left the town the next day. On his way through the next town, he checked into a local bar and drank himself to stupor. As he laid on the ground cursing God, an old seedy looking man tapped him gently on the shoulder. “Man of God”, the old man began. But the evangelist quickly cut in, “Don’t mention the name of God to me. He is fake. He is unreliable. I am no longer a believer

No, not always, but it does change the way you look at those events.   Does prayer change your financial future? No, not always, but it does change who you look to for meeting your daily needs.   Does prayer change shattered hearts or broken bodies? No, not always, but it will change your source of strength and comfort.   Does prayer change your wants and desires? No, not always, but it will change your wants into what God desires!   Does prayer change how you view the world? No, not always, but it will change whose eyes you see the world through.   Does prayer change your regrets from the past? No, not always, but it will change your hopes for the future!   Does prayer change the people around you? No, not always, but it will change you – the problem isn’t always in others.   Does prayer change your life in ways you can’t explain? Oh, yes, always! And it

She paid the driver and, using her hands to feel the location of the seats, walked down the aisle and found the seat he’d told her was empty. Then she settled in, placed her briefcase on her lap and rested her cane against her leg. It had been a year since Susan, thirty-four, became blind. Due to a medical misdiagnosis, she had been rendered sightless, and she was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger, frustration and self-pity. Once a fiercely independent woman, Susan now felt condemned by this terrible twist of fate to become a powerless, helpless burden on everyone around her. “How could this have happened to me?” she would plead, her heart knotted with anger. But no matter how much she cried or ranted or prayed, she knew the painful truth-her sight was never going to return. A cloud of depression hung over Susan’s once optimistic spirit. Just getting through each day was an exercise in frustration and exhaustion. And all
