Jack knew me since the first breath… A few years ago I lost my buddy Jack to cancer… Wait, wait! before you get all sad there’s more to the story! Jack knew me since the first breath I took on this earth. He was always in my life in some aspect or another. When he first got sick, I was mad. I didn’t understand how this could happen to a guy like Jack and what I also didn’t understand was how Jack didn’t seem a bit worried. He continued on with life as if everything was perfectly normal. What was even stranger was he almost seemed happy about it. You would never see him when he wasn’t smiling or laughing no matter how he felt physically, mentally he was happy. Towards the end, the only thing I could figure was he was just smiling because he knew he was going to beat us to heaven! They say everything happens for a reason and although it really hurt to lose Jack, the strength and resiliency he showed throughout his battle touched a lot of people. One frog was fat and the other skinny. One day, while searching for food, they inadvertently jumped into a vat of milk. They couldn’t get out, as the sides were too slippery, so they were just swimming around. The fat frog said to the skinny frog, “Brother Frog, there’s no use paddling any longer. We’re just going to drown, so we might as well give up.” The skinny frog replied, “Hold on brother, keep paddling. Somebody will get us out.” And they continued paddling for hours. After a while, the fat frog said, “Brother Frog, there’s no use. I’m becoming very tired now. I’m just going to stop paddling and drown. It’s Sunday and nobody’s working. We’re doomed. There’s no possible way out of here.” But the skinny frog said, “Keep trying. Keep paddling. Something will happen, keep paddling.” Another couple of hours passed. The fat frog said, “I can’t go on any longer. There’s no sense in doing it because we’re going to drown anyway. What’s the use?” And the fat frog stopped. He gave up. And he drowned in the milk.

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance, he could see a boy going back and… Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance, he could see a boy going back and forth between the surf’s edge and the beach. Back and forth this lad went. As the man approached, he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide. The man was struck by the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached, the boy continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf. As he came up to the boy, he said: “You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can’t possibly make a difference.” The boy looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said: “It sure made a difference to that one!” Making a difference is not until

While they were travelling, they happened to pass a lake. They stopped there and a master told one of his disciples, I am thirsty. Do get me some water from that lake there. The disciple walked up to the lake. When he reached it, he noticed that some people were washing clothes in the water and, right at that moment, a bullock cart started crossing through the lake. As a result, the water became very muddy, very turbid. The disciple thought, “How can I give this muddy water to the master to drink!” So he came back and told the master, the water in there is very muddy. I don’t think it is fit to drink. After about half an hour, again the master asked the same disciple to go back to the lake and get him some water to drink. The disciple obediently went back to the lake. This time he found that the lake had absolutely clear water in it. The mud had settled down
