The muskrat looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. What food might it contain? He was aghast to discover that it was a muskrat trap. Retreating to the farmyard the muskrat proclaimed the warning; “There is a muskrat trap in the house, a muskrat trap in the house!” The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Excuse me, Mr. Muskrat, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.” The muskrat turned to the pig and told him, “There is a muskrat trap in the house!” “I am so very sorry Mr. Muskrat,” sympathized the goat, “but there is nothing I can do about it. Be assured that you are in my prayers.” The muskrat turned to the cow. She rudely replied, ! “A muskrat trap? I am in grave danger… Not!” So the muskrat returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s trap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the

Decide to have a good day. “Today is the day the Lord hath made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalms 118:24 2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; But the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7 3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. “He who guards his lips guards his soul.” Proverbs 13:3 4. Stand Up!!… For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. “Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. He doesn’t ask anything of us that he wasn’t willing to do himself, and he promises to be with us in all we have to go through. Some examples: Jesus knew temptation: He was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan” (Mark 1:13). Jesus knew poverty: Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20). Jesus knew frustration: He scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables . . . ‘Get these out of here! How dare you turn my Father’s house into a market!’ ” (John 2:15-16) Jesus knew weariness: “Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well” (John 4:6). Jesus knew disappointment: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem . . . how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks . . . but you were not willing.” (Luke 13:34). Jesus knew rejection: “From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him” (John

I’m having a real good time like I am.” ******************************************** A Christian Home After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied,” That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys.” ******************************************** Deliver Us From Evil I had been teaching my three-year-old daughter, Caitlin, the Lord’s Prayer for several evenings at bedtime, She would repeat after me the lines from the prayer. Finally, she decided to go solo. I listened with pride as she carefully enunciated each word right up to the end of the prayer: “Lead us not into temptation,” she prayed, “But deliver us some email. ******************************************* Forgive Us Our Transgressions One particular four-year-old prayed, “And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets.” *******************************************
