It was so cold. Snow was falling, and it was almost dark. Evening came on, the last evening of the year. In the cold and gloom, a poor little girl, bareheaded and barefoot, was walking through the streets. Of course, when she had left her house, she’d had slippers on, but what good had they been? They were very big slippers, way too big for her, for they belonged to her mother. The little girl had lost them running across the road, where two carriages had rattled by terribly fast. One slipper she’d not been able to find again, and a boy had run off with the other, saying he could use it very well as a cradle some day when he had children of his own. And so the little girl walked on her naked feet, which were quite red and blue with the cold. In an old apron, she carried several packages of matches, and she held a box of them in her hand. No one had bought any from her all day long, and no one had given her a cent. Shivering with cold and hunger, she crept along, a picture of misery, poor little girl! The snowflakes fell on her long, fair hair, which hung in pretty curls over her neck. In all the windows, lights

Sanni locked himself in his room praying and crying in bitter tears. His heart was filled with deep sorrow, he needed 100,000 naira and he needed it badly. His status depends on it. One thing he hated most in his life was embarrassment and it felt like his life was about to be upside down. He had never been to the police station before but last night he dreamt that the police had come for him. He was owing a person 100, 000 and every means to repay his futile. He had posted the borrowers but failed to meet up and he was threatened that Monday, noon was the last chance for him to pay. Today is Friday and a bank alert from a friend came in, it was the exact amount he needed—100,000 naira. That night he knelt by his bed crying silently thanking God from the bottom of his heart. “Thank you, ah! Thank you,” he repeated again and again. All of a sudden, a still small voice said, “Give the money to your neighbor.” He called it a bluff and assumed the voice was from the devil. He went by his way but his heart had no rest until he gave his neighbor all the money. It was Sunday, he resigned to his faith. He knew that

Rachel, a talented musician, faced a series of setbacks that left her dreams shattered. She struggled with self-doubt and financial hardship, till she questioned her faith in God and purpose in life. She had gone for a church administration when she realized that her purse was missing, she decided to trek home rather than flag down a stranger’s car on the highway. She was hungry and tired, she noticed a park and rested under a big oak tree. She caressed her violin case and retrieved it. Rachel played her violin in the empty park, she poured out her emotions and pain into the song like she was telling someone her story, she was acting singing to God. A stranger approached. Intrigued by the haunting melody, he revealed himself as a renowned conductor searching for fresh talent. Rachel, astonished, was offered an invitation for an audition to pursue her passion. Her friends raised funds for her to attend the audition. Favor spoke for her, she was given a slot and received a monthly stipend 10 times the salary she received from her tutorial classes. Meditation: “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly.” –Psalm 84:11 Also Read: Understanding God: God of Delegation Purpose:

In a quaint village nestled between rolling hills and valleys of Mount Kilimanjaro, Thomas, a humble farmer, faced a severe drought that threatened his crops and livelihood. With each passing day, the parched fields seemed to mock his efforts. Desperation crept in, and Thomas turned to God for guidance. One night, as he knelt in prayer, a vision filled his mind: a vivid image of a bountiful harvest and abundant rainfall. Emboldened by this revelation, Thomas decided to plant seeds despite the arid conditions. His friends mocked him, the villagers laughed at him. On the verge of doubt, he wanted to stop but devoted his thought to making an irrigation system and a water reservoir. It’s been months since he planted his crops. One day, he stood on this farm, and in a loud voice, he prayed. He reminded God of the dream, he had some months ago. The sun scorched on his skin till tiny sores emerged and sweat rolled on his face like showers. After planting the last seed, he removed his raffia hat and wiped his sweat away with the back of his palm. Miraculously, a cold drop fell on his arm. He looked at it and glanced up at the bright sky. All of a sudden, gentle rain began to fall, and Thomas could hear the
