To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as of your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. To think well of yourself, and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds. To live in faith that the whole world is by your side as long as you are true to the best that is in you. To wear

Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided to do something different. He called young people in the kingdom together one day. He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you.” The children were shocked, but the emperor continued. “I am going to give each one of you a seed today – one very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor.” One boy, named Ling, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it, carefully. Every day, he would water it and

He hired a 19-year-old named Bill Gates to write software for him. Roberts sold his computer business in 1977 and bought a farm. Seven years later, at age 41, he entered medical school. Today Bill Gates is the head of the largest computer software company in the world. Ed Roberts is a physician in a small Georgia town. Roberts says, “The implication is that the PC is the most important thing I’ve ever done, and I don’t think that’s true. Every day I deal with things that are equally if not more important here with my patients.” How can we evaluate the significance of our lives? Something deep inside tells us such a thing cannot be measured by wealth and fame. As we look at the Apostle Paul’s turbulent life, it seems noteworthy that he approached the end with a peaceful sense of successful completion. He wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 timothy 4:7) Paul looked confidently not to

If we might have a second chance… If we might have a second chance To live the day once more, And rectify mistakes we’ve made To even up the score. If we might have a second chance to use the knowledge gained, Perhaps we might become at last As fine as God ordained. But though we can’t retrace our steps, However stands the score, Tomorrow brings another chance For us to try once more. Author Unknown Meditation: Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. – Hebrews 10:23 You will succeed in Jesus Name! And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not

We are slapped when we come into this world and they shovel dirt on us in the end. This is our life. Everyone’s life. These are the bookends of life. But what really matters is what goes on in the middle. That we are passionate people. That we are caring people. That we LIVE! The people I’ve been privileged to watch succeed have intensity about them. They demand everything from themselves. They show up every day, in fact, every moment, and they are accountable to themselves. Everything they do has a hard statement, and they know when to stop. Very impressive. Real beauty is found in oneself. That’s the tranquil beach. The beautiful sunset. It’s not a location, the location is you. To travel is to travel inward. That’s the ultimate vacation. Turn your weaknesses into your strengths. Success is failure turned inside out. We need to find a deeper meaning in life. Our duty, as artists, is to tap into those notes that
